MagicDisplay is local-first by design.
This site is a set of static files served by the hosting provider. It contains no analytics scripts, no advertising, no cookies for tracking, and no third-party embeds that collect personal data.
MagicDisplay runs entirely on your Mac. It reads the current display configuration through macOS display APIs and applies layouts you request. It does not collect, upload, or transmit any usage data, display information, or personal information.
MagicDisplay stores only what you create, in standard locations on your own machine:
~/.config/magicdisplay/profiles/ (or the XDG_CONFIG_HOME equivalent).~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.magicdisplay.agent.plist when you install the automation agent.~/Library/Logs/magicdisplay-agent.log.These files stay on your machine. Deleting profiles, uninstalling the agent, or removing the config directory removes the local data.
The automation agent can show macOS notifications about display changes. This happens on your Mac only and can be turned off with magicdisplay layout set notifications:off.
This is an early-stage project. If you have a question about how MagicDisplay handles your data, open an issue on the GitHub repository.
